Adult Classes

All adults are welcome and encouraged to participate in the following learning opportunities every week.

Thursday 11:00 a.m.:  Be An Everyday Missionary Right Where You Are!  The purpose and goal of every one of us here at Hebron Lutheran is, according to our Mission Statement:  To Know Jesus and Make Him Know.  This includes his Great Commision to all beleivers to "Go and make disciples" of all people, everywhere in the world.  For most believers this does not mean to go "to the ends of the earth" as some are, but to rather live as "everyday missionaries" right where God has already placed us, in our local neighborhoods, our workplaces, our schools among the people we see and interact with every day.  Christ calls you and me to be "everyday missionaries" with Him as we follow Him as He leads us through our lives every day.  You are invited to gather with other believers as we share 7 sessions together using the very down-to-earth and practical training guide written by Lutheran Pastor, Church Planter, and Author Greg Finke entitled "Joining Jesus on His Mission:  How to Be and Everyday Missionary" led by Pastor Dave Shockey beginning Thursday, June 27th.  The discussions will show us how to join Jesus on his redemptive mission in the places where we already live, work and go to school.  Each week will consist of insights on how to be on mission and recognize Jesus is already at work in our neighborhoods, workplaces and schools.  We will beging a morning group Thursday, June 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the home of Marlene Becherer, 1463 Burlington Pike, Florence, KY  41042.  Please call or text Marlene at 859-630-5920 if you will be attending the group so that we have suffient materials and resources available for everyone.  Pastor Dave would also be delighted to offer at Thursday evening or even Sunday morning group for those who cannot attend the morning group, so please call or text him at 513-498-8781 to express your interest and availabiltiy and he will organize an evening or Sunday group.

Sunday 8:15 a.m.: The Friendship Class—Augsburg Bible study lessons—led by Paul Hogan (859-689-7414).
The class meets upstairs in the last classroom on the right
(Room 205).

Sunday 10:15 a.m.:  A new adult class will begin June 2nd and run through August 25th.  What happened between the Old and the New Testament?  How did this have an impact on the Jewish mindset when Jesus Christ came to town?  Why are there 4 Gospels and how are they structured.  Why were some gospels not included in the New Testament?  We will look at the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the centrality of the New Testament, Who He is and what He’s done.  If time allows, we will take a look at how the Spirit of God empowered the early community to take the gospel message into the world.  This class will be comprised of video and reading material from a course prepared by Darrell Bock and LOGOS Mobile Education, NT211 Introducing the Gospels and Acts:  Their background, nature, and purpose.  The class will be led by Randy Long upstairs in the last classroom on the right in Room 202.
