Adult Discipleship Class - 10:15 a.m. "What’s in a Name?  The Names of Jesus."  As we start the Lenten season, a new adult class will begin today, Sunday, March 10, 2019.  “What’s in a name?  In the famous play by Shakespeare Juliet asked Romeo that very question:  “What’s in a name?  That which we call a rose, by any other word would smell as sweet.”  So how do we answer that question and how does this relate to Jesus?  Studies by theologians have found over 700 names that are attributed to Jesus!  In the Ancient Near East names had great significance and that is true of the names we find in the Bible.  Proverbs 22:1 tells us, “A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.”  What better way to get to know Jesus than learning the names in which he is identified?  This class will be led by Rick Kloos and will meet in Room 103 on the lower level.  As we try to simplify our lives during Lent, let us also focus on strengthening our relationship with Jesus, whose name means “Jehovah the Savior.”
